Stage 3 Trading Cup Champion – Congratulations to Mao Long Yang

Congratulations to Mao Long Yang, who won Stage 3 of the 2020 trading Cup with another incredible return of 146.97%.

Not only that, but Mao Long Yang is our first-ever repeat stage winner, having won Stage 1 of the 2020 Trading Cup with a return of 782.63%. Please note that trading leveraged products can result in losses greater than your starting capital.

But it wasn't all plain sailing.

Jinguo Ye came out of nowhere, placing his first trade on the 27th of August, to claim second with 141.08%. Jinguo's trading stats from his first five days are nothing short of outstanding, with a 92% success rate.

Third place went to Wei Wei Wang, who held first place for 80% of August, only to be overtaken on the final day of trading. It was that close.

Even in the ACY offices, our team was constantly refreshing the leaderboard as the final day's action unfolded, with different strategies providing the volatility to lift their accounts higher (and lower).

Haidong Liu came 4th, and over the last few years of the Trading Cup, Mr. Liu has been one of our most consistent performers, appearing on the leaderboard month after month.

To round out the top 5, and qualify for the Grand Final, was Hai Ting Li, who managed to generate a return of 26.81% in the month.

Here's a snapshot of the Stage 3 Final Leaderboard.

How did Mao Yong Lang achieve his returns?

We've collected the trading statistics and equity curve of Mao Yong Lang below.

You may recall from our Stage 1 blog post about Mao Yong Lang that their focus is 100% on trading Gold. Have you seen the interview with him yet? Click here to access the interview on how he trades, his mindsight behind the strategies, and what he attributes his results to.

Mao struggled early on in August, with his trading strategy seemingly unable to sync with the price action on Gold.

But what you cannot see in that graph is that Mao stopped trading from the 6th of August until he picked up again on the 27th of August.

On resuming his trading, he placed a series of 20 consecutive winning trades, resulting in gains of $2,818.40.

Then on the 28th of August, he placed 40 consecutive winning trades, resulting in gains of $1656.30, catapulting his account to more than $6,300.

Congratulations again to Mao Yong Lang, who has cemented his position as one of the best and most consistent traders we've ever seen.

The high win rate of Jinguo Ye, the active intraday trader

Congratulations to Jinguo Ye, who placed second in Stage 3.

We covered Jinguo's trading statistics more comprehensively in the blog post earlier this week.

The intensity of trading activity and high win rate is unlike anything we have seen in this trading competition.

It just goes to show how many different styles of trading have the potential to hit the top of the leaderboard.

Wei Wei Yang – Third place

Congratulations to Wei Wei Yang for placing third. An incredible result and such a consistent equity curve.

We were hoping that Wei Wei Yang would win, as they were so consistent all through August with their trading activity and consistently rising equity curve.

But as you can see from their equity curve, a late series of losses hampered their chance to claim the number 1 position.

Congratulations on making it to the Grand Final

Congratulations to the top 5 in Stage 3, who all qualify for the Grand Final, which is to be held in an exotic location, fitting for the caliber of traders we have.

Since Mao Long Yang and Haidong Liu have already qualified, we can extend invites further down the leaderboard.

Here are the top 4 qualifiers for the Grand Final from Stage 3:

1.       Jinguo Ye

2.       Wei Wei Yang

3.       Hai Ting li

4.       Christopher Carter

Did you know you could have qualified for the 2020 Trading Cup Grand Final with a return of 2.95%?

August saw plenty of trending markets pull back and become more volatile to trade.

As you can see by the leaderboard, the results were not as impressive as in previous months.

And due to two traders already qualifying, Grand Final spots opened up to 7th place, with a return of 2.95%.

This means had you generated a return of 3% for the month (which is still an exceptional return for 31 days), you would have earned a spot in the Grand Final.

Now is the time to register for Stage 4.

The reality is, each month is different, and you never know how your result may surprise you.

You may be better than what you think you are at trading.
